Terms of Service

Welcome to Lumo. By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use Lumo.

1. Who can use Lumo

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use Lumo.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity on your account. Please choose a strong password and do not share it with anyone. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

3. Acceptable use

When using Lumo, you agree not to:

• Upload any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or defamatory.
• Upload any content that infringes on someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or other users' accounts.
• Use the platform to harass, spam, or deceive other users.

4. User content

You retain ownership of the content you upload to Lumo (such as study notes, resources, or tutor profiles). By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display, and distribute that content on the platform.

You confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to upload any content you share, and that it does not infringe on anyone else's rights.

5. Tutors

Tutors on Lumo are independent contractors, not employees of Lumo. We review tutor applications and may approve or reject them at our discretion, but we do not guarantee the quality of any tutoring session.

Approved tutors are responsible for their own conduct, availability, and pricing.

6. Payments

Payments are processed by HitPay. We do not store your card details. Platform fees are deducted from tutor earnings as disclosed during the booking process. Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Booking Policy.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lumo is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or if we believe your use of the platform poses a risk to other users or to Lumo. You may delete your account at any time.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through the platform. Continued use of Lumo after changes means you accept the new Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Singapore.
